Our Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH), Amanda and Elizabeth, have significant responsibilities at NC Prosthodontic Specialists – Dentures, Implants & Crowns, that focus on our patients’ total oral health care. Having passed both the national and state board requirements, our registered dental hygienists are experts in the field of oral hygiene which includes preventative care, ongoing maintenance and patient education necessary for the optimal oral health.
During a dental hygiene appointment, the Registered Dental Hygienist:
- Reviews the health history of the patient.
- Performs an oral cancer screening.
- Records the presence of diseases or abnormalities.
- Examines patients’ teeth and gums.
- Teaches patients how to practice good oral hygiene.
- Removes soft and hard deposits from teeth.
- Council patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health.
At the conclusion of the appointment, the Prosthodontist will meet with the patient to review the results provided by the Registered Dental Hygienist.

ELIZABETH received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. With over twenty-five years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist, Elizabeth is dedicated to making major contributions towards the advancement of good, oral health care. Good oral health has no borders and as a result, Elizabeth traveled with a medical/dental team to Belize and Haiti to offer her expertise as both a dental healthcare specialist and oral health educator.
