Board Certified DENTAL assistants

Our Board Certified Dental Assistants, Kay, Grace and Debbie, take on significant responsibilities at NC Prosthodontic Specialists – Dentures, Implants & Crowns.  They have each graduated from state accredited dental education programs and have passed their National Dental Assisting Certification Boards with high honors.

It is important to note that all Prosthodontic Specialists – Dentures, Implants & Crowns dental assistants take yearly advanced continuing education courses in both Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and in Occupational Safety and Health administration (OSHA) compliance in order to maintain their board certification status.

For many patients with complex dental cases, going to the dental office can be a very stressful and/or fearful experience. Our Board Certified Dental Assistants have many years of education, experience and training that put even the most anxious patient at ease, allowing for a calm and relaxing experience on the dental chair.

Kay Berkley

KAY is a graduate of the prestigious University of North Carolina School of Dentistry’s Dental Assistant Training Program.  With over forty years of chair side experience, her passion for providing patients with the optimal care is valued by all who visit our dental practice.  Kay attends numerous seminars and symposiums by state- of- the -art dental implant manufacturers who focus on complex dental cases.  Kay has been an active member of the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA) as well as the North Carolina Dental Assistant Association (NCDAA).  She has been an irreplaceable member of the NC Prosthodontic Specialists – Dentures, Implants & Crowns dental team for the past sixteen years.

Grace Itchon

GRACE was raised in a household that was dedicated to dentistry.  As a result, she decided to follow in the footsteps of both her mother and sister who practiced general dentistry. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Queens College, she attended the highly-respected Dental Assistants program at Rutgers University’s Department of Allied Dental Education where she received her Board Certified Dental Assistants certification.  Passionate about dental laboratory technology, Grace continued her dental education by attending Great Lake Orthodontics, where she received certification in the fabrication of orthodontic appliances.  With over thirty-five years of knowledge, experience and training.  Her outstanding care and warm hospitality provides a comfortable environment for our patients’ throughout their dental treatment experience.  Grace has been an invaluable member of the NC Prosthodontic Specialists – Dentures, Implants & Crowns dental team for the past three years. 

Debbie Ridgeway

DEBBIE graduated cum laude from Watterson College with a diploma in Dental Assisting. She has over thirty-two years of extensive education, experience, and training as a National Board Certified Dental Assistant. Passionate about striving to pursue her advanced coursework, she continues to illustrate her committed professionalism towards the advancements in dental assisting. In addition to her responsibilities within the dental office, Debbie is dedicated to keeping current with compliant issues that are related to the OSHA and state regulatory agency standards, better known as SPICE. She is an active member of the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA), the Dental Assistants National Board (DANB), and a current member and Past President (1997) of the North Carolina Dental Assistants Association (NCDAA). As the consummate Educator, Debbie has been an instructor at both Wake Technical Community College and at Wake Medical Hospital’s Area Health Education Center (AHEC) dental assistant continuing education programs.  Currently, she continues to share her experience, education and expertise at professional study groups and symposiums. Debbie has been an invaluable team member of the NC Prosthodontics Specialists – Dentures, Implants, & crowns for the past year.
